Temperance man convicted in holdup at W. Toledo bar

One of three men charged in a June 28 robbery at the Six Pack Bar and Grill in West Toledo pleaded no contest Tuesday to a charge of obstructing official business.

Russell Kiker, 21, of Temperance had been indicted on one count of aggravated robbery but entered a plea to the fifth-degree felony before Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Frederick McDonald, who found him guilty and set sentencing for Oct. 1.

Anthony Martin, 19, of 247 Mayberry St. and David Smith, 22, of 1040 Oakdale Ave. each were charged with two counts of aggravated robbery with a firearm specification.

Mr. Smith, who is set to go to trial Aug. 27, also faces a charge of tampering with evidence. Mr. Martin’s case was set for trial Sept. 10.
