MONROE — A 58-year-old Monroe County man was killed Friday night when he was struck by a vehicle on Telegraph Road north of the city, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department announced.

William T. Fullterton, 58, of Newport, Mich., was declared dead at the scene in Frenchtown Township near Grafton Road, deputies said.

According to the report, Mr. Fullerton was standing in the four-lane road’s northbound right lane in front of Kenny’s Market when he was struck by a northbound car driven by Anthony W. Boyer, 32, of Monroe. Mr. Boyer and a passenger, Elisa M. Boyer, 36, were taken to Mercy Hospital in Monroe for treatment of minor injuries.

Deputies said they had been told Mr. Fullerton had walked from his residence to go to Kenny’s, but it was unknown whether he was on his way there or returning home when he was struck.

The crash remained under investigation Saturday, and the sheriff’s office asked that anyone with information call 734-240-7768.
