Ms. Guerra was taken by LifeFlight to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. Her condition was not immediately available.

Five more people, all from Toledo, in Ms. Guerra's van were also taken to Magruder Hospital.

According to troopers, Alexandra Davis, 32, suffered “incapacitating injuries.” Four children were treated and released from the hospital: Dominique Sullivan, 15; Diamond Sullivan, 7; Darreron Porter, 13; Donnell Porter, 10.

In the Chevrolet Sonic at the stop sign was Margaret Cumberland, 56, and Harold Cumberland, 54, of Hilliard, Ohio. Ms. Cumberland was taken to Magruder Hospital with “incapacitating injuries.” Mr. Cumberland suffered “minor injuries” and was not treated, troopers said.

In the Lexus, also waiting at the stop sign, was Anna Murphy, 59; Garron Fischman, 49; and Ashlynn Fischmann, 10, all of Kenton, Ohio.
