FINDLAY — Police are investigating a reported attack on a 14-year-old Findlay boy who three years ago was hurt in another assault that captured national headlines.

Findlay police Lt. John Dunbar said Tyler Wilson was injured in an Aug. 29 fight on Swing Avenue. He was treated at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay.

Lieutenant Dunbar said police are seeking several teens who may have information about the fight, which someone captured on video.

Police are investigating if one of two boys who had assaulted Tyler was involved in the new incident.

Tyler suffered a broken shoulder in a 2010 assault by two boys, then age 11, as he walked home from Glenwood Middle School. His mother, Kristy Wilson, told media outlets her son was the target of teasing because he was on a cheerleading squad.

Two boys admitted to misdemeanor assault and were ordered to pay fines, have no contact with the victim, and were placed on probation, according to the Hancock County Juvenile Court.

One of the boys charged and his mother appeared on the talk show Dr. Phil several years ago and denied the 2010 incident was related to the victim’s cheerleading activities.
