A Toledo teen was hospitalized after being shot Wednesday evening, police said.

Keshawn Groom, 19, was shot while sitting in a vehicle outside a central city liquor store at 15 W. Bancroft St.

A witness told police that he and the victim were in a Ford Explorer when an unknown man came to the driver's-side window, put a gun to Mr. Groom's head, and told the victim to give him anything the gunman wanted.

The gunman dropped his weapon into the car, picked it up, and fired at least once. The victim told the witness he was shot in his abdomen and drove himself to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center.

A hospital spokesman had no information about the patient's condition.

No arrests have been made.

A complete suspect description was not available.
