Two people were transported to hospitals for treatment of minor injuries after a collision at Erie and Walnut streets that sent a car nearly crashing into a building after striking a fire hydrant. Erie Street was blocked by emergency vehicles after the crash, which also involved a sport-utility vehicle and was reported to police at 2:13 p.m. Toledo police Sgt. Karen Mastersen said the crash was believed to have occurred when one of the vehicles involved made an improper turn.
