CLYDE, Ohio - A Wood County man was injured seriously Saturday night after the motorcycle he was riding crashed on Sandusky County Road 294 at State Rt. 101 about seven miles northeast of here.

Michael L. Brumbaugh, 56, of Bradner was airlifted to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers from the Fremont post. Mr. Brumbaugh was listed in serious condition in the intensive care unit this morning, a hospital spokesman said.

Mr. Brumbaugh was riding south on county road 294 about 7:30 p.m., when he failed to heed a stop sign at Route 101, troopers said. Troopers said Mr. Brumbaugh lost control of the motorcycle, and he was thrown from it, suffering severe head injuries. He was not wearing a helmet, and troopers said alcohol was a factor in the crash.
