Fire damages furnace 
at Toledo Libbey plant

A fire that caused Libbey Inc.’s Toledo plant to be evacuated Monday night damaged a furnace, a company spokesman said Tuesday.

The company was assessing the damaged furnace, but production was back to normal on all the other furnaces at the Buckeye Street facility.

Nobody was injured, the spokesman said.

Libbey’s stock gained 15 cents a share Tuesday to close at $24.97.
