Fatal crash closes westbound lanes of turnpike near Fremont

FREMONT -- At least one person is reported dead in a crash that has closed all westbound lanes of the Ohio Turnpike near Fremont.

A Highway Patrol dispatcher said the crash was reported at 9:38 a.m. The dispatcher did not say how many vehicles were involved or if any other injuries were reported.

The crash, which happened within a work zone, was reported near mile post 94; the turnpike is closed from mile post 99, all in Sandusky County.

Officials said traffic is being diverted off the turnpike at exit 110, for Sandusky/Bellevue/ State Rt.4.

Lengthy delays are expected.
