LAMBERTVILLE — The girl killed in a Saturday evening crash on Whiteford Center Road in Bedford Township has been identified as Kelsey Koepfler, a freshman at Bedford High School, a school official confirmed.

Linda Beuhler, a member of Bedford High School's counseling department, said school officials will have grief counselors on hand Monday. The principal sent out an email notifying the staff of the fatal accident, Mrs. Beuhler said.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the crash that killed Kelsey, a release from the office stated. Kelsey was struck by a minivan while walking along the edge of the road shortly after 8 p.m. and was later pronounced dead at Toledo Hospital.

The minivan was being driven by Marceille D. Glover, 59, of Toledo, police stated. The accident occurred south of Smith Road and just north of the state line. Kelsey was transported to the hospital by Monroe County Ambulance. Speed does not appear to be a factor in the accident, police stated.

Ms. Glover and her passenger, James C. Verble, 59, of Toledo, were not injured in the crash.

Police request that anyone with information call 734-240-7493.
