Wood County man killed in 1-vehicle crash

A 47-year-old Wood County driver was killed in a one-vehicle crash in Perrysburg Township on Saturday afternoon, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Mathew R. Paxton was driving west on Dowling Road west of State Rt. 199 when the car went off the right side of the road, striking a concrete birdbath, bushes, and then a tree head-on, according to the patrol’s Bowling Green post.

The crash occurred about 2:50 p.m.

Mr. Paxton is from the Weston area.
