Toledo police arrested 185 people and seized two guns and $1,150 worth of drugs during a recent nine-day enforcement blitz in a South Toledo neighborhood, the department announced Thursday.

The campaign, which concluded early Saturday, was intended to reduce criminal activity, improve relations with residents, and identify environmental conditions that lead to crime, according to a police statement.

The arrests pertained both to crimes witnessed by police and service of warrants, with 23 felony counts and 466 misdemeanor charges involved. Police also issued 384 traffic citations, 34 parking violations, and two curfew violations, and had 44 vehicles towed.
