Toledo police shot a man in South Toledo late Friday night, the Toledo Police Department said.

Hall.
Hall.

Steven Hall, 53, was shot when he brandished a pistol while police were at his house on Airline Avenue for a domestic dispute call. Police said Mr. Hall was shot once in the leg and taken to the University of Toledo Medical Center with non life threatening injuries.

Officers received a call at about 11:45 p.m. Friday from a woman at 1910 Airline Ave. who said that Mr. Hall had a gun and that she needed the police. Toledo officers Kevan Toney and Kellie Kenney arrived and saw Mr. Hall as they approached the house. Police said Mr. Hall had a gun and was ordered to drop it, but instead walked further into the house.

Mr. Hall reappeared, still with the gun in his hand, and Officer Toney fired twice from the front porch into the home.

Bullet holes were visible today in the screen door of the home. A woman who answered the door declined to comment. Neighbors said they heard the shots fired last night, and then saw a body in the front yard.

University officials said there was no patient by that name at UTMC.

Police say they expect Mr. Hall will be charged with felonious assault on a peace officer among possible other charges.

Confirmation of the shooting did not come from police until 10 a.m. today.
