MONROE — Michigan State Police have identified a body found in a wooded Frenchtown Township field as that of Janet Lennen, 56, troopers at the Monroe post said.

Ms. Lennen was reported missing to Flat Rock, Mich., police on Oct. 3, troopers said.

The state police laboratory in Northville, Mich., used fingerprint analysis to identify the body, which was in an advanced stage of decomposition when it was found Thursday afternoon near South Stony Creek and LaPrad roads.

The Wayne County medical examiner’s office will enlist a forensic anthropologist to determine the manner of death.
