Erie County pedestrian, 85, killed on road

SANDUSKY -- An 85-year-old Erie County man died after he was struck by a car while he was walking across the road on which he lived Tuesday evening, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Edward A. Bikulcius was pronounced dead at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, after the 7:20 p.m. incident on Bogart Road, west of Columbus Avenue, in Perkins Township, according to the patrol's Sandusky post.

Steven L. Dickman, 61, of Monroeville, Ohio, was driving east on Bogart as Mr. Bikulcius was walking across Bogart from north to south. Mr. Bikulcius was in the eastbound lane of traffic when he was struck by Mr. Dickman’s vehicle, according to the patrol.

Neither Mr. Dickman, nor his wife, Louise, who was his front-seat passenger, were injured, according to the patrol.
