Two men who hid inside a South Toledo Internet café until it closed and stole cash from a lock box were sentenced Thursday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.

Judge Ruth Ann Franks ordered Johnny Dean, 23, of 4509 S. Detroit Ave. to spend 17 months in prison, while Joseph Soto, 25, of 828 Avalon Rd., Waterville was placed on community control for four years, ordered to spend six months at the Correctional Treatment Facility in Toledo followed by four months of electronic monitoring. Soto also was ordered to ingest no drugs or alcohol and undergo drug testing.

Judge Franks ordered both men to pay $3,700 in restitution to Cyber City Internet Cafe, 2531 S. Reynolds Rd. On Aug. 4, the pair were allowed inside the business by an employee. They hid in a room until after closing. Because she cooperated, the employee was not prosecuted, but she was fired.
