Rossford Police investigate a reported rape

Rossford Police are investigating a reported rape that allegedly occurred early today.

Chief Glenn Goss said a 26-year-old woman is the apparent victim. He said the woman was hospitalized and, to his knowledge, had not yet been interviewed by a detective. 

The chief said more than one suspect was believed to be involved, and he said the preliminary investigation indicated that the suspects were known to the victim, although no arrests have yet been made. He said there was no reason to believe that a serial rapist is at large.

"I don't think people in the community need to be alarmed," Chief Goss said, declining to provide more information until the investigation has progressed.
