Rape reported in woman’s residence

Police say 26-year-old knew her assailants

Rossford police are investigating a reported rape that occurred early Saturday.

Chief Glenn Goss, Sr., said a 26-year-old woman is the apparent victim in the attack that occurred in the woman’s home before 5 a.m. He said the woman was hospitalized and, to his knowledge, had not yet been interviewed by detectives.

The chief said more than one assailant was involved, and he said the preliminary investigation indicates that the victim knew her assailants. He said there is no reason to believe that a serial rapist was at large.

“I don’t think people need to be alarmed,” Chief Goss said.
