WAUSEON -- A Perrysburg man who was arrested by Fulton County Sheriff's deputies is being investigated for the theft of metal markers used to mark graves of military veterans from a Lucas County cemetery, authorities said.
James K. Long, 49 is charged in Fulton County Easter District Court with two counts of receiving stolen property and fleeing and eluding. Deputies said he was arrested Friday in a stolen vehicle after a vehicle pursuit in rural Fulton County.
Bethany S. Miller, who was a passenger, fled and was arrested after authorities searched a cornfield. Ms. Miller, of Providence Township in Lucas County, is charged with receiving stolen property and possession of drugs of abuse. They are being held in the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, Stryker.
Deputies said grave markers believed to have been stolen from the cemetery, which was not identified by authorities, were recovered with the assistance of the owners of Ohio Scrap Corp. in Delta.
