A Northeast Ohio man is being held in the Lucas County jail after he was caught allegedly trying to sneak marijuana to an inmate at the Toledo Correctional Institution.

Jebriel Stegall, 22, of 22620 Euclid Ave., Euclid, is charged with illegal conveyance of drugs to a detention facility.

Mr. Stegall was arraigned Saturday in Toledo Municipal Court and ordered to be held in the jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.

An affidavit alleges that, on Friday, the suspect had 95 grams of marijuana hidden in his shoes while he was in the North Toledo prison's visiting room.

The Highway Patrol trooper who reported witnessing the incident wrote in the document that the suspect tried to give the drugs to an inmate.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 18.
