Seneca County authorities are investigating the death of woman from gunshot wound

FOSTORIA -- Seneca County authorities say they are investigating a woman's death from a gunshot wound earlier today as suspicious.

Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Kevin Reinbolt said that Brenda Lonsway, who is in her 60s, was found shortly before 4 a.m. with a gunshot wound to her chest and a gun nearby.

Her husband, Greg, called 911 police to the couple's home at 4581 North U.S. 23, north of Fostoria. He was questioned and then released, authorities said.

The cause of death is pending an autopsy which will be conducted by the Lucas County Coroner's office.

A person who answered the door at the family home would not comment.
