A Toledo man wanted in a fatal car crash seven months ago failed to appear Tuesday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court for sentencing on an unrelated theft conviction.

Judge Myron Duhart issued a warrant for Alberto Selvera, 25, of 1157 Western Ave. who pleaded guilty last month to theft and had been released on $5,000 bond pending sentencing.

Selvera is wanted by Toledo police for aggravated vehicular homicide and two counts of aggravated vehicular assault for an April 21 crash on Western at Marion Street that killed James Steele, 57, and injured two others.

Anyone with information on Selvera’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.
