Police identify men shot in central Toledo in separate incidents

Toledo police have identified Corey Waites and Kevin Roscoe as the victims in two shootings Tuesday a few hours apart in central Toledo, on Glenwood Avenue near Islington Street and on Buckingham Street near Hoag Street, respectively.

The victims were treated at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, police said. The victims' ages and addresses were not released.

Initial reports were that shots were fired just before 7 p.m. during a robbery attempt, authorities said.

Police were looking for a dark-colored sport utility vehicle that drove from the scene in the 2600 block of Glenwood.

In the second incident, Toledo police responded to a report of a person shot at a house in the 1300 block of Buckingham Street near Hoag Street, authorities said.

An ambulance was sent to the scene about 10:40 p.m.

Witnesses told police that a person in black clothing ran eastbound on Buckingham after the shooting. The identity and condition of the victim were not reported.

There was no word of arrests.

The motives were not released. The incidents remain under investigation.
