A hat left behind at a West Toledo convenience store after it was robbed in October led police to a suspect.

Rachel Chandler, 37, of 226 Kenilworth Ave., is charged with one count of robbery and is being held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $20,000.

She was arraigned today in Toledo Municipal Court.

Stop & Go, 3131 W. Sylvania Ave., was robbed Oct. 17 by a masked woman, police said.

The woman jumped over the counter, pushed an employee, and tried to take the cash register.

The suspect took more than $100 from the register and fled, according to a police report.

From the scene, police collected surveillance video and a hat that fell off the woman's head as she hurdled the counter.

On Nov. 27, DNA from the hat came back to police, linking it to Chandler, police said.

Chandler was arrested Tuesday.

She is scheduled to be back in court on Dec. 11.
