A Toledo man who was shot while he allegedly tried to break into a West Toledo home was arraigned today.

Randy Estrada, 21, of 3722 Burton St., is charged with one count of burglary. He's accused of trying to break into a Leybourn Avenue home just before 5:20 a.m. Thursday. His bond was set today in Toledo Municipal Court at $10,000.

Mr. Estrada called police at 5:21 a.m. to say he was shot while he walked along Jackman Road, near Berdan Avenue. His call came just minutes after Antoine Garret, 34, called to report someone trying to break into his home through a window; Mr. Garret said he fired numerous shots at the burglar.

Mr. Garret is not charged in the incident.

Mr. Estrada is scheduled to appear in court again on Jan. 22.
