EDON, Ohio — One man was killed and another man remains hospitalized today in serious condition following an accident Tuesday in Saint Joseph Township in Williams County.

The Defiance Highway Patrol Post said two cars collided at about 12:45 p.m. at County Roads 4 and F 50, about three miles east of the Indiana line, and southeast of Edon.

Timothy Hartsock, 42, of Edon, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the front-seat passenger in a car driven by Douglas Michael, 61, of Edon, who was northbound on County Road 4. Their car collided with a car driven by Casey Kline, 33, of Edon, who was traveling west on County Road F 50.

Troopers said Mr. Kline ran the stop sign at the intersection and struck Mr. Michael's vehicle in the passenger door.

Mr. Kline’s vehicle came to rest in a field on the northwest side of the intersection. Mr. Michael’s vehicle came to rest on the northwest side of the intersection after striking a utility pole.

Mr. Michael was transported to Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Ind., by Lutheran Air, where he was reported as in serious condition, troopers said. Neither Mr. Michael nor Mr. Hartsock were wearing seatbelts. Mr. Kline, who was uninjured, was wearing a seatbelt.
