Police respond to multiple crashes on Christmas Day

Toledo Police respond to a one vehicle accident on the Anthony Wayne Bridge after the snow started dusting the roads about midday.

Toledo police are responding to a slew of crashes on I-75 and elsewhere.

Police report numerous single-vehicle and multiple-car crashes and report a very icy roadway that is causing problems and slowing traffic. Accident reports started coming in just after noon as snow began to fall.

Crash sites include I-75 northbound at Collingwood Boulevard, I-75 southbound at Detroit Avenue, the Phillips Avenue overpass at I-75, and a single-car crash at the Anthony Wayne Bridge that has blocked traffic. Crashes also are reported at I-280 at Greenbelt Parkway and I-280 southbound at Manhattan Boulevard.

Toledo police are responding only to injury accidents or when a vehicle can’t be moved or is obstructing traffic. None of the incidents today appear to involve life threatening injuries, police said.
