EDON, Ohio — One man died and another man remained hospitalized Wednesday in serious condition after a traffic crash on Tuesday in Saint Joseph Township in Williams County.

Troopers at the Ohio Highway Patrol’s Defiance post said two cars collided about 12:45 p.m. at County Roads 4 and F-50, southeast of Edon and about three miles from the Indiana border.

Timothy Hartsock, 42, of Edon, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the front-seat passenger in a car driven by Douglas Michael, 61, of Edon, who was northbound on Road 4. Their car collided with a car driven by Casey Kline, 33, of Edon, who was westbound on Road F-50 and, according to the report, ran a stop sign at Road 4 and hit Mr. Michael's vehicle in the passenger door.

Mr. Michael was flown to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind., where troopers said he was in serious condition.

Both vehicles came to rest northwest of the intersection — Mr. Kline’s ended up in a field, while Mr. Michael’s struck a utility pole. Neither Mr. Michael nor Mr. Hartsock wore seat belts. Mr. Kline, who was uninjured, wore a seat belt.
