MONROE — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting in which an unidentified woman was shot in the thigh.
Authorities responded just after midnight Friday to the 8000 block of Ida-Maybee Road in Exeter Township after a woman reported that her 27-year-old son was “acting crazy” and had a gun.
On the way to the house, sheriff’s officials learned of a domestic violence incident at the house and upon arrival discovered a fight in a bedroom.
Deputies found a 24-year-old woman had been shot in the thigh with a shotgun that discharged during an argument. The woman and the 27-year-old man, who was arrested, live together at the residence, according to reports.
Authorities, who would not release names of those involved pending an as-yet-unscheduled arraignment, said the woman’s injuries do not appear to be life- threatening. She was taken to a hospital.
The man is being held in the Monroe County jail, and the incident remains under investigation.
