Toledo police suspect the same robber was involved in holdups on consecutive nights this week at an ice-cream parlor and a convenience store in southwest Toledo.

An armed male robbed Baskin-Robbins, 1313 S. Reynolds Rd., about 9 p.m. New Year's Eve, while on New Year's Day at 8 p.m. a lone gunman held up the In-and-Out Mart at 2125 S. Byrne Rd.

Descriptions of the robber’s height varied in the two reports, but Toledo police Sgt. Joseph Heffernan said the two South Toledo locations and other elements of the crimes lead police to believe the same man was involved.

On Friday evening, staff at Star Beauty Supply, 48 S. Byrne, reported another armed robbery involving a white male, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, who wore a ski mask and a red hooded sweatshirt and fled in a dark Chevrolet Trail Blazer — a description similar to the suspect in the earlier robberies.
