Tips sought to solve 2012 fatal shooting

Toledo police are seeking information about a homicide that occurred in central Toledo on Dec. 10, 2012.

Anthony Fizer, 42, was shot once in the face and once in the right leg about 7:35 p.m. at 523 Winfield Rd. near Cherry Street and North Detroit Avenue. He was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center and pronounced dead just after 8 p.m.

The victim pulled up in his car, parked it in the driveway outside his home, and headed for the front porch, at which time two men approached him. A struggle ensued, during which time the victim was shot, according to police.

Officers responding to a report of shots fired arrived about 7:40 p.m. and found the victim on the sidewalk in front of the residence. Witnesses said two men fled the scene on foot. Police said robbery was an apparent motive.
