Aggravated robbery charges against Toledo man dropped

1/13/2014

Charges were dismissed Monday against a Toledo man accused of robbing two West Toledo convenience stores.

Andrew Snyder, 30, of 1931 Newport Rd. had been indicted by a Lucas County grand jury on two counts of aggravated robbery for hold-ups at Speedway, 1708 Tremainsville Rd., and at 7-Eleven, 3749 Upton Ave., which were both reported on July 24.

Ian English, an assistant Lucas County prosecutor, asked Common Pleas Judge Gene Zmuda to dismiss the charges on the day Mr. Snyder was to have gone to trial.

Mr. English said that a necessary witness was not available to testify and that evidence still was being tested to help identify the perpetrator in the robberies.
