Injured tow-truck driver in critical condition
1/13/2014MONROE — A hit-and-run incident in which a tow truck driver was seriously injured late Sunday while assisting a motorist on I-75 in Monroe County's LaSalle Township remained under investigation.
Steven Johnson, from Star Towing, was listed in critical condition late Monday at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, a hospital spokesman said. His age and address were not released.
Mr. Johnson was standing beside the stranded car about 8:30 p.m. Saturday when a passing tractor-trailer rig struck the side of the tow truck, injuring him, sheriff deputies said.
