One person was stabbed Tuesday during a robbery at a West Toledo bar.

Thomas Faulkner, 35, of Toledo was stabbed in the left side of his chest during the robbery at J and D’s Side Trip, 1534 W. Sylvania Ave.

He was taken to Toledo Hospital to be treated for the nonlife threatening injury, police said.

A hospital spokesman had no information about his condition.

According to a police report, two men entered the bar through a back door at 12:50 a.m. One of the suspects went behind the bar and demanded that the bartender give him cash. The bartender gave the suspect $200.

Police said Mr. Faulkner, who was sitting at the end of the bar, was stabbed by one of the suspects when he said he would not give them any money.

The suspects also took $30 from another woman at the bar.

Both suspects were described by authorities as carrying “long knives.” One was estimated to be about 50 years old; the other about 30.
