Crews have gotten a fire under control that they have been fighting in the 3000 block of Collingwood Boulevard, just north of Central Avenue.

Fire officials said the fire, which was reported about 8 p.m., started in the attic and had burned through the roof.

No one was in the structure when it started on fire; homeowner Reinaldo Torna said he and his wife Mayelin were out running errands when the fire broke out.

"I'm glad someone called 911," he said. He returned to his home after a friend called him and told him about the blaze.

Units from Toledo, Sylvania Township, and Rossford responded to help fight the fire — most Toledo firefighters are attending the funeral service tonight for firefighters Stephen Machcinski and James Dickman, who died in the line of duty fighting a fire Sunday on Magnolia Street.
