Crashes, icy roads snarled interstates in Monroe County

MONROE --  The interstate highways that were partially closed today for a couple of hours due to multiple crashes on icy roads in Monroe County have reopened, authorities said.

The road closures occurred between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. and included northbound I-75 at Laplaisance Road, southbound I-75 at Newport Road, and southbound I-275 at Telegraph Road, deputies said.

Traffic on the roads returned to normal by about 10:30 a.m.

There were no serious injuries, according to the sheriff's office.
