SANDUSKY — Two women were injured Saturday afternoon in a wrong-way crash in Erie County’s Perkins Township, troopers at the Sandusky post of the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said Mary A. Fox, 81, of Sandusky entered westbound State Rt. 2 from U.S. 250 about 1:30 p.m., made a U-turn at the top of the ramp, and drove eastbound in the westbound lanes. Her car and a westbound sport-utility vehicle driven by Jacqueline Zupka, 60, of Macedonia, Ohio, collided head-on.

Both drivers wore seat belts and both were taken to Firelands Regional Medical Center. Fox was listed in fair condition. Ms. Zupka was released after treatment.

The westbound lanes were closed for about an hour. The crash remained under investigation later Saturday, but alcohol was not a factor, troopers said.
