It took five hours to repair and clean up after a broken water main, but Maumee police began allowing traffic along Anthony Wayne Trail to once again turn onto northbound Conant Street at about 10:30 p.m., Monday.

Maumee police have not yet said what caused the break. One police sergeant said he did not believe there were any injuries.Officials did not make themselves available for comment after the road route was reopened.

Police instead released a statement with the words "cancelled" and "Conant Street Now Open" printed on it.

It's not known if any residents or businesses in the area are without water. City workers were busy earlier in the evening trying to clean up the spilled water before the water began to freeze, officials said.

The water main break which was reported at about 4:30 p.m. was located a block away at Clinton Street and Gibbs Street, but affects Trail traffic, authorities said.
