Two East Toledo residents were arrested Tuesday when police found 18 marijuana plants in the Federal Street home where they live, authorities said.

The Metro Drug Task Force reported approximately 18 marijuana plants plus heroin and drug paraphernalia at 607 Federal St. The task force was executing a search warrant there.

Alehandro Pecina, 24, was charged with illegal cultivation of marijuana and permitting drug abuse. He was arraigned Wednesday in Toledo Municipal Court and was ordered to remain in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $5,000 bond. It was posted later in the day.

Brittney Broughton, 25, was charged with endangering children and permitting drug abuse. She was ordered to remain in jail in lieu of $2,500 bond. That too was posted. The child endangering charge was filed because there was a juvenile in the Federal Street home where drugs allegedly were present.
