Lucas County had 343 impaired-driving crashes in 2013, according to annual statistics released this week by the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Wood County had 104. Fulton County had 53. Ottawa County had 52, according to the Highway Patrol.

Those area accidents were among 11,226 impaired-driving crashes across Ohio in 2013, the agency said.

Statewide, 330 people were killed and 6,843 were injured in 2013, officials said.

However, the percentage of impaired-driving crashes resulting in death declined.

Troopers reported that impaired-driving crashes accounted for 33 percent of all fatal crashes statewide in 2013, down from an average of 43 percent from 2010 through 2012.

Last year troopers from the patrol’s post in Toledo arrested 860 impaired drivers.
