Applications are now being accepted for the city’s Sylvania Safety City.

The Sylvania police department holds the five-day long course that invites teachers, firefighters, members of the Sylvania Police Division, and other special guests to teach children safety in a fun way.

The program is open to children entering kindergarten living in the city of Sylvania or enrolled in any Sylvania school this fall.

The course will be June 23 to June 27 at Maplewood Elementary School, 6769 Maplewood Ave. Two sessions will be held, a morning class from 9 to 11:30 a.m. each day and one from 12:30 to 3 p.m.

The fee is $30 per child. Applications will be accepted through May 16. For more information visit sylvaniapolice.com, call Sylvania Police Division Community Affairs 567-455-0794, or email sgt.music@sylvaniapolice.com.
