A North Toledo man was arrested Tuesday night for allegedly waving a samurai sword and threatening people.

Charged with inducing panic, resisting arrest, and obstructing official business is Randy Deosaran, 30, of 501 Columbus St. He remains in the Lucas County jail pending arraignment in Toledo Municipal Court, scheduled for Thursday morning.

Police were called to the Columbus Street address at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a man waving the sword at people walking in front of the suspect's home.

When police arrived, Mr. Deosaran walked out of his house and refused an officer's orders to put his hands up and get onto the ground, according to court documents.

Police reported forcing the man to the ground so he could be taken into custody.

No injuries were reported.
