A North Toledo man is to be arraigned today for allegedly waving a samurai sword and threatening people in front of his home. Charged with inducing panic, resisting arrest, and obstructing official business is Randy Deosaran, 30, of 501 Columbus St. He was held Wednesday in the Lucas County jail.

Police were called to the Columbus Street address about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a man waving the sword at people walking by the house.

When police arrived, Mr. Deosaran walked out of his house and refused an officer’s orders to put his hands up and drop to the ground, court documents state. Police reported forcing the man to the ground so he could be taken into custody.

The sword was on the front porch when officers arrived. No injuries were reported.
