A Toledoan fired three shots at his girlfriend’s vehicle “in self-defense” Wednesday as a trio who allegedly stole the car, which he left running after midnight in the Olde Towne neighborhood, drove it toward him, according to a police report.

No charges were filed against Rafael Dowlen, 23, who has a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

Three teens were charged: an unidentified 14-year-old and two 18-year-olds, Sean Jacobs, of 2827 Floex Dr., and Rae Quan Jamar Lee Hardison, of 3720 Wallwerth Dr.

Both adults are charged with grand theft auto and obstructing official business, and Mr. Jacobs is additionally charged with resisting arrest and drug abuse. Both remained in the Lucas County jail later Wednesday and are to be arraigned today in Toledo Municipal Court.

Police pursued the vehicle and it crashed at Mettler and Warsaw streets.
