Bicyclist hit by car Friday night
3/23/2014MONROE — A bicycle rider was seriously injured by a hit-and-run driver late Friday in Monroe Township. Johnathon Aber-crombie, 39, of Monroe was struck at 11:45 p.m. on Telegraph Road south of Seventh Street in the township, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office reported.
Investigators said Mr. Abercrombie was riding on the southbound shoulder when he was hit by a dark-colored sedan also traveling south. Deputies said the vehicle did not stop.
Mr. Abercrombie was taken to Mercy Memorial Hospital by ambulance, and then to University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor with serious injuries. Further information was unavailable later Saturday from the Ann Arbor hospital.
