Small fire controlled in East Toledo
Blaze at refining business reported at 1:30 was put out by 2:30 p.m.
3/26/2014A small flash fire caused some damage at an East Toledo refinery today.
The fire, which started about 1:30 p.m. at 1500 Oakdale Ave., Fiske Brothers Refining Co., was put out and cleanup was under way before 2:30 p.m., said fire Lt. Matthew Hertzeld.
The flash fire started in a second-floor vessel by "residue" left over from a manufacturing process.
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters searched all four floors of the building to look for any fire that had spread. Initial reports were that flames were found on the third and fourth floors.
