Man shot in break-in found guilty of attempted burglary

A Toledo man who was shot while trying to break into a West Toledo home has pleaded no contest to attempted burglary.

Randy Estrada, 21, of 3722 Burton St. was then found guilty of the charge Tuesday by Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Stacy Cook.

His sentencing was scheduled for April 28.

Estrada reported being shot while walking along Jackman Road near Berdan Avenue Dec. 5. About the same time, Antoine Garrett reported to police that he had fired several shots at an intruder who had attempted to enter his Leybourn Avenue home through a window.
