4/5/2014Toledo police hope someone can help them find a man who used a sawed-off shotgun to rob a West Toledo convenience store last month.
An employee at Gateway Express, 3819 Haverhill Dr., told police a man entered the store at 11:41 p.m. March 25 and, with a soda in hand, asked for cigarettes and cigarillos. After the clerk put both on the counter, the robber said, “Give me all the money in the drawer” before showing the shotgun inside his jacket sleeve, according to a police report.
The robber fled with the tobacco and cash, the report states. He was described as black, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He wore a black coat with a white cartoon robot on the back, dark pants, and a blue-plaid fur hat. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stopper program. Callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
