Mich. driver dies after being pulled from burning vehicle


MONROE — Two passersby pulled a White Lake, Mich., man from a burning car in Monroe Township early Tuesday, but he did not survive.

Paramedics sent to the scene on Telegraph Road south of Albain Road unsuccessfully attempted to revive Tyler Cook, 23.

It was not reported if the two people who happened upon the burning vehicle, reported to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office about 12:47 a.m., and pulled Mr. Cook from it were traveling together or separately.

The fire’s cause and the cause of Mr. Cook’s death remained under investigation later Tuesday, sheriff’s Sgt. Jeff Pauli said. Anyone with information is asked to call 734-240-7530.
