OTTAWA LAKE, Mich. — The driver of a sport utility vehicle was injured Saturday when he drove left of center on U.S. 223 in Whiteford Township and struck an oncoming tractor-trailer, Monroe County sheriff’s deputies said.

The SUV driver, Lupe J. Rosas, 29, of Blissfield was flown to ProMedica Toledo Hospital. No information was available on his condition, a hospital spokesman said. Deputies said he was admitted in critical condition.

Deputies said Mr. Rosas was eastbound on U.S. 223 about 12:20 p.m. when he went left of center. He struck a westbound semi driven by Adam P. Wright, 38, of Adrian, who was not injured. Both drivers wore seat belts.
